Make-up Product Review!!

Evening all bloggers!

I am on a roll with blogging today, since I am not at college, I thought I'd work on ma blog for you guys. So today I thought I shall do a product review on what I have recently bought. This post will contain..

                                               Wake me up concealer
                                               On the spot foundation
                                               Extreme length mascara
                                               Kate Moss lipstick

I have used all these product into todays look. So lets get started!
 Concealer

I bought this concealer two days ago, and I have good thoughts about it, it covers up blemishes ( which I have) so having a concealer that does the magic is a good feeling.
The cost of the concealer is £5.49 which I don't think is expensive but I don't think is super super cheap, I have had some in the past that have been cheaper but not as good as this one! But the fact that it works shows that you can just splash out little more and still get good results!

The applicator (if that's the right word) is a good way for me to put concealer on. It doesn't clog up, it has a reasonable amount of product on the end of it. The size of the product itself is very reasonable, nothing too big that you can't put in your handbag! YAAAY

 Foundation

This foundation I bought a few weeks ago, has been good to me so far, it covers up my blemishes. The packaging now looks quite empty because I have used it, so it is not brand new. It claims that it gives me clearer skin in 4 weeks which I think has cleared my skin so I would recommend this foundation!

The cost of this product is £6.77, which compared to all the other foundations out there it isn't that expensive but I guess if your a student like me, I don't want to be spending £££ on one item.

Mascara

I don't normally wear mascara because it really irritates my eyes, it makes them itchy and watery so I bought a sensitive extreme length mascara that compared to the normal mascaras it doesn't hurt my eyes at all which is gooooooood!

The size of the brush is a good size, I don't think there is any interesting things to say about the brush to be honest but it separates my lashes, keeps them clean and neat.

The price was £12 something I cant exactly remember but I think the price is quite pricy for a mascara but I think I got it on offer because of the points I had or something. It says it gives an extreme length and I think I got more of an extreme length when I applied a second coat after the first coat dried, after that I think I saw more of a longer length!

So yes I would recommend this mascara!

Lipstick

This is my last product review and it is my Kate Moss lipstick and the cost was £5.49 and the lipstick number is 20. I love this lipstick, it is very long lasting and this is what I want because I don't always want my lipstick in my handbag so its nice that something is long lasting!

This is my make - up and all what is on my face is what I have used are the products I have reviewed. *major pout*

I hope you have enjoyed this post!

What has Polly bought?

EVENING ALL BLOGGERS!

This is just a quick post of what I bought recently from Topshop (IN DA S-A-L-E). The weather has been so lovely this morning & afternoon so I decided to take a scroll into my local high-street *moon walking to Topshop* and see if I liked anything!

Lucky I had a voucher that I could use in Topshop so I didn't have to spend a penny of my own money WAAAYYYYY!! And on top of that I used my student discount so I got it for much less! Nothing wrong with a discount!!!

Anyway on with what I bought.. I bought this quilted cross body bag which originally cost £28 then on sale for £15 and using my student discount it came toooooooo £13.50 which isn't a bad price!

I think the bag is very Chanel inspired except the price of course! I have never been good at opening bags like these because I never knew what to push or press (if that makes sense haha!) but with this bag I find it very simple to handle! The strap of bag is like a metal ropey, a long length I would like to have it a bit shorter or something that I can physically change on the bag like you normally see on bags!

The size of the bag inside is reasonable, I can fit my everyday things in easily e.g. phone, purse, iPod, keys, card holder things like that! I find this very sophisticated and chic, something I can use everyday!

I hope you have all enjoyed this quick post on what I bought!

Lots of love..

MMVA AWARDS

   EVENING YA'LL!

Everybody probably knows that last week was the Much Movie Video Awards.. So I thought that I would share my opinion on who I loved and who's outfit I didn't like too much!

My first outfit love is Laura Vandervoot wearing a cool blue coloured, long sleeved dress with a Peter Pan collar. This outfit is very simple and that's why I love it!
She is so stunning, she doesn't need to be over the top, everything she is wearing goes together, the style of the hair is simple so it keeps in common with the whole outfit.

Laura is wearing The 2nd Skin Co dress one thing that I would change about this dress would be the size of the collar the ends seem too small so I would make them an inch bigger so it looks like there's more in the neck area. The length of the dress is enough, she is showing enough amount of skin with her legs which is appropriate for the occasion she is at!

She wore the dress with a Raywolf clutch bag, which doesn't have the same colours as the dress but still has the muted colouring.

My second favourite outfit is... Nikky Yanofsky! The dress she is wearing is quite a bodycon style of dress which I think adds something different to the style of these type of awards!

I really love the pattern of the dress, I love the length of the dress because it is not too short and her legs are HAAAAAWT!  a lovely figure for the type of dress and she pulls it off very well! One thing that I would change it the style of hair, it all collides together, so I wish she would have put it in a bun or in a slick pony tail like Laura, but a part from that little point the outfit is still amazing!

The style of shoe she wore goes very well, I think sometimes people can go very wild with the shoe choice so it's nice to see a change that she has gone for a plain, silver heel (I think) can't see the shoe probably.

Another outfit love of mine is... Kendall Jenner this has been the talk of the week on social media!!!! I personally didn't know where to look when i saw this photo but you can't say she's not stunning! Her figure is worthy of millions of ladies to be jealous of!

Kendall is wearing Fausto Puglisi, the pattern of the dress is very bare but still have enough going off that it doesn't become boring! I love the length of the dress even though she has her front hips on show I'm glad that she has covered up a lot more of her skin then was is on show because the dress would deffo be too much FOR MA EYES TOO SEE!! The colour of the shape sequins match the colour of the heel. I am so glad that the awards wasn't planned on a windy day!!!!

Now time for the not so nice outfits.. starting with Mia Martina I don't really know what to say about this dress but ermmmm I think she is showing too much, the shoe laces (if that's what there called) I don't like, it makes the dress a lot more tacky which isn't my style. Again with the hair style it all merges together, nothing is separated e.g. the neck, it doesn't show off any of her lovely curves.

I don't have a problem with the colour of the dress, I think it is perfectly fine to wear black because we all have black days YAY!!

I think that was the only dress that I wasn't bothered about so that is it! I shall put down a video of the MMV Award style video which I watched to find all these dresses!!!! I shall show some more photos from the night down below!

(LOVE THIS ONE TOO!!!!)

Lots of love..

Collar To Cuff

*NEW ASSIGNMENT ALERT*

Yes that is correct everybody, I have started my new assignment which includes in making..
  • A garment
  • Bag
  • Mood board
  • Customer board
  • Design Boards
  • Final design board + spec drawing
  • Tech file
  • Marketing report
  • Research in sketchbook
The whole assignment is based around Old fashioned communication e.g. telephones, type writers, switch boards I explored all those areas but I wanted to concentrate on telephones, looking at all the area's of telephones e.g. dials and wires.

  RESEARCH

ILLUSTRATIONS

The illustrator that I got inspiration from was Hayden Williams. I really loved researching his work and taking ideas that I could use for my illustrations. What I took from his illustrations into my own was the curves around the hips of his illustrations, I wanted mine to have bigger hips which made them look like real women NO TWIGGY IN MA SKETCHBOOK!!!

I found getting the correct skin colour
was quite tricky because the media that I used which was acrylic paint was quite fiddly and wasn't too neat so I decided to paint the skin colour in water paints which was less messy and I enjoyed creating it.

I used a darker tone of colour for the shadow areas of my illustrations e.g. where the body covers up a part of the arm, this is where the shadow will naturally be placed.

Design Boards

These are the nine illustrations that I have decided to take forward and place on my design board.

I have used a photocopied print of old fashioned telephones for a part of the background with my three illustrations on top and a bigger version of one of the illustrations at the side just to fill up the board.

For the hair I decided to use images of switchboards which is related to my theme so I know I am keeping it all in common.

I wanted to add a pop of more colour so I decided to use collage to a few of the bottoms of my illustrations which I think adds a lot more creativity to them.

The media that I used for my illustrations were..
  • Acrylic white paint
  • Water colours
  • Fine liner
Customer Board

The customer that I imagined wearing my garment is..
  • A 28 year old woman living in Summerset, with a husband and child
  • Owning a retro shop, liking 50, 60's fashion style of clothing
  • Likes to go dancing with her husband and friends

I collected lots of images to create my customer board just exploring what life I could make for her.

Final Garment
This is my final garment I chose this style of shirt because I think it has been very on trend this season. I have taken pictures of the making of my shirt.

My bag

Keeping my bag in common with my theme, still using the telephone ring.

Using wire in my handle to add something different to my bag design. I am adding purple to the bottom section just to add some colour because I was allowed too!

Mood board

This is my mood board that contains all the things that have inspired me on making my shirt. I think the mood board is very minimal but it still shows what I took from the images and used for my shirt

I hope you have all enjoyed reading about my college work and what I have been up too!
